Insane Oreo Cake
This Oreo Crazy Cake is a diet-busting, sugar-rush-inducing, chocolate-overdose-inducing slice of bliss. This cake has so much going on that it’s ridiculous, yet incredibly delicious.
Let’s go into what’s within.
The cake itself is a delicious chocolate cake with chopped oreos mixed in.
After baking, fill it with funfetti marshmallow buttercream. Isn’t it fun?
You may omit the sprinkles if you choose, but I believe they give a delightful touch.
The cake is then topped with double chocolate buttercream. As if that wasn’t enough, you’ve got oreos dipped in vividly colored candy melts and buttercream-attached to the cake.

Candy melts are frequently available at your local craft shop. They’re even available at my local Walmart. You may also get them on Amazon: Turquoise Candy Melts, Purple Candy Melts, and Hot Pink Candy Melts are all available.
Yes, this is a diet buster, but it is so worth it.
You don’t even need a special occasion to create this; all you need is a large sweet craving (which I seem to have at all times).
Let’s go to the recipe. Oh, and there’s also a video below that shows how everything is put together.

Now for the recipe. Oh, and there’s a video below that shows how everything is put together.
Ingredients
Cake:
- 2 cups crushed oreos
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- a cup of cocoa powder
- 2cupssugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1teaspoonsalt
- 3largeeggs
- 1cupmilk
- a cup of vegetable oil (or canola oil)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- a cup of hot water
Funfetti Marshmallow Buttercream:
- 1 cup butterroom temperature
- 2 cups marzipan cream
- 4 cup sifted sugar (can add an extra cup if needed)
- 3 tbsp milk or cream (can add an extra tablespoon or two if needed)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- cupsprinkles
Double Chocolate Buttercream:
- 2 cups butterroom temperature
- a cup of cocoa powder
- 6 cup sifted sugar
- 4 tbsp milk or cream (can add an extra tablespoon or two if needed)
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted (and slightly chilled) (I used a baking bar)
Candy Melt Covered Oreos:
- 12oreos
- candy melts in a variety of hues
- sprinkles
Instructions
For the cake:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour three 6-inch baking dishes.
- Almost a full bag of Oreos should be chopped. A food processor makes things simple, but you may simply put them in a zipper bag and smash them with a rolling pin. Save these for later. Save around 10-12 entire oreos for the cake’s decoration.
- Mix the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing dish.
- Separately, combine the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract.
- Mix the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients until well blended.
- Include the hot water.
- Mix in another two cups of chopped Oreos.
- Scrape down the sides of the basin and mix just until everything is incorporated. Take care not to overmix.
- Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 50 minutes in three 6 round cake pans.
- Let to cool for 10 minutes on a wire rack. Remove from pans and cool fully on a wire rack.
Funfetti Marshmallow Buttercream:
- Blend the butter until it is smooth. Mix in the marshmallow cream well. Add three cups of powdered sugar and a few teaspoons of milk. Combine thoroughly. Add a cup or two more powdered sugar. (If you add an additional cup, it will be sweeter and thicker.) If your buttercream is too thick, add a tablespoon of milk at a time, and then add the vanilla extract. Combine thoroughly. Mix in the sprinkles with a spoon or a rubber spatula.
Double Chocolate Buttercream:
- Combine the butter and cocoa powder in a mixing bowl. Add three cups powdered sugar and a few tablespoons milk. Combine thoroughly. Mix in the remaining three cups of powdered sugar and a tablespoon or two of the milk. If it’s too thick, stir in another tablespoon of milk. Mix in the melted and cooled chocolate well.
Candy Melt Covered Oreos:
- Microwave the candy melts to melt them. A spoonful of vegetable oil may be added to help thin them out. Pink, purple, and turquoise were the colors I chose. Dip the oreos into the melted candy melts, then sprinkle with sprinkles and lay aside on wax paper to dry.
Putting the cake together:
- Place a layer of cake on a cake plate or board. Top with another layer of chocolate cake and the funfetti marshmallow buttercream. Add a layer of marshmallow buttercream, followed by the third layer of cake. Double chocolate buttercream should be used to cover the whole cake. Make a border around the top and bottom of the cake using a pastry bag. Now, within the chocolate border you previously piped, pipe dollops of the funfetti marshmallow buttercream on top of the cake. Using a dab of buttercream, wrap the candy-dipped oreos around the bottom of your cake. Cut a few oreos in half and arrange them around the top of the cake.

Such a delightful cake to prepare for a birthday party, don’t you think? You’ll be in paradise with a dollop of ice cream on top. You may need a sleep and probably some insulin later, but you’ll be fine!
